Advice to my son that I had to learn the hard way
Tom once asked me, “Hey Brian, if you could give one piece of advice to your son that you have had to learn the hard way what would it be?”
I answered, “Actually, I would give three pieces of advice. 1. Never play poker with a guy who has the last name of a city. 2. Never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. 3. Never get less then ten hours of sleep. You stick with those, and everything else is cream cheese.”
“And, how many of those do you follow?” He asked.
“I follow every one of those rules every day of my life. And I had to learn them the hard way, let me tell you.”
“How many hours of sleep did you get last night?”
“Seven.” I answered. ”How many hours of sleep have you gotten since 9AM this morning?” (It was about 6PM)
“Eight.” He answered. “I like to sleep while I work.”
